Mac founded Embercombe in 1999. He was also the founder and CEO of a leadership consultancy for corporate executives operating internationally between 1989-2005. Over a period of twenty years Mac was mentored and coached by a group of Native American teachers. During this training and ever since he has attempted to bring two worlds together – an ancient world view that emphasises relationship, interdependence, and reverence for life with the huge challenges and equally huge opportunities of the 21st Century.
Mac leads on The Journey, The Descent, and Speaking Out. He is an international speaker, with recent presentations to Mars, Grunenthal, Barclays Bank, the Institute for Family Business, Harvard Business School Club of New York, and the Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative. He also speaks at many festivals including Glastonbury, Wilderness, Buddhafield, Shambala, and the Green Gathering. Mac has spoken at three TEDx events.
He holds a Bachelor degree in Education, a Masters in Human Resource Development, and was recently awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Plymouth. You can find out more at www.macmacartney.com.
