Connection & Community
Living and working in a community can be difficult. We are challenged to live and act courageously and authentically, to be open and to recognise our own flaws. The reward is a life lived with a full heart and satisfaction that we have done our best.
Through our programmes, we seek to build a sense of the possibilities of living in community. We then know what is possible when we go back to the world outside the gates of Embercombe. We work with different generations, from infants through to young people and to parents.
We see community as inclusive of those with whom we don’t necessarily agree. We aim to engage others in dialogue, to welcome different perspectives and to learn from others and share our experiences with them. We seek to remember that underneath, we all have beating hearts that care.
