The Other Greenhouse Effect

Climate discourse orbits around the firm conviction that greenhouse gas emissions are heating up the planet. Certain gases like CO2 are incarcerated in the earth’s atmosphere, leading to deleterious effects on the environment. There is another greenhouse effect that is hardly spoken about. This other effect isn’t so much about gases than it is about affect, trauma, experiences, yearnings, agency, and responsibility – and the reactionary politics it is creating today.
