Guiding Principles
At its heart Embercombe is guided by principles that create connection and support life to thrive.

The Children’s Fire
The Children’s Fire is a teaching of the elders of ancient America. They made a pledge to the welfare of unborn children, both human and non-human: No law, no decision, no action of any kind shall be taken that will harm the children seven generations hence.

The Twin Trail
We invite people to follow the Twin Trail of inner healing and spiritual deepening and of outer action to change the world. By uncovering our true gifts, responsibilities and passions we are able to bring ourselves fully to the world, leading ourselves and others on a path of positive action.

Connection
Connection to nature, community and ourselves underpins everything we do at Embercombe. By exploring our inner landscape, we can develop authentic relationships and experience a deeper connection. In this way Embercombe offers a glimpse of what is possible when we go back to the world outside the gates.

Community
Living and working in Community can be challenging. We see community as inclusive of all ages, demographics, and those with whom we don’t necessarily agree. In this way we are challenged to live and act courageously and authentically, to be open and recognise and address our own challenges.
