Spring at Embercombe

Embercombe Spring Camp

This Easter we welcome you to visit our wild valley in Devon. Join us for a long weekend of nature connection and community, spending time with family and friends on the land and celebrate the return of Spring.

Camp with your family or friends in one of our simple yurt villages, sit around the fire, swim in the lake or simply use this as an opportunity to explore the surrounding area of forest and moor.

This is a chance to spend time on the land, in whichever way suits you – enjoying our facilities, our delicious chef-cooked plant based food, the woods, the meadows – making new friends or spending time with your own friends and family.

This year we bring more of the Embercombe community experience to our camps with sharing circles, choir, and opportunities to cook on the open fire or try a new craft.

Is This For You?

Do you wish to spend some gentle time in beauty with your loved ones?
Do you long to connect to the simple pleasures in life surrounded by friends and family?
Do you long to take some time to reflect on where you are in your life?
Do you long for meaningful connection with nature and the changing seasons?
Do you long for a sense of belonging and meaning in life?
Do you want time to dream?
Do you want food to be a pleasure and an adventure that doesn’t cost the earth?
Do you want to sit round the fire, feel the wind in your hair and the sun on your skin, swim in the lake, run through the woods, laugh with the children and find once again a deep gratitude for the incredible gift that life is?

Join us for Embercombe Spring camp!

What to Expect

From the moment you arrive you will be welcomed by the friendly Embercombe team who will do all they can to make you feel at home. You will live with the other guests on site creating a village feel while observing the safe social distancing that is necessary at this time.

Meals are served at regular times but the schedule is relaxed allowing you to rest and to create your own activities. You can stay in the valley or travel a little further to the moor and the coast, or walk, cycle and ‘Go Ape’ in our neighboring forest.

Our delicious plant based menu is full of soul, designed by our chefs with a passion for ethical and joyful food and a talent for leading you on a sensual cooking adventure.

This will be a lightly facilitated event – so whilst there will be some scheduled events you are also free to choose how you would like to spend your time.  You will camp as a village in our simple but comfy yurts, in a socially distanced way with other campers.

Against the backdrop of the stunning Dartmoor, Go Ape Haldon offers adventures in the treetops of Haldon Forest and is a great location for thrill seekers and family adventurers with hilltop to hilltop zip wires and daring high level crossings. You may be deep in the forest but the 360-degree views from your treetop vantage point are spectacular.

Dartmoor National Park
Explore the Moor from Embercombe’s doorstep: Dartmoor really does have something for everyone; history lovers can explore castle ruins and learn about local myths and legends at our museums or on a guided walk, families have plenty of exciting attractions to choose from, while there’s lots of opportunities for rambling over tors, cycling up challenging hills and staying active in the great outdoors.

Local Beaches
Devon is famous for its beaches and there are many close by. The closest beach is at Teignmouth with the lovely Shaldon Beach just across the bridge.
