Volunteer Coordinator



Reports to: Coordinator
Role Type: Part Time Contractor (Self-Employed) for 5 months initially (extension subject to availability of funding and the right candidate)
Rate: £12 per hour
Location: Embercombe

Role Description

We are looking for an Volunteer Coordinator to assist with the day to day administration and support of our volunteers. This role is based in our offices at Embercombe.

Responsibilities

Tasks includes but are not limited to:

  • Recruitment of residential and day volunteers
  • Scheduling and assisting with interviews to ascertain suitability for the roles and community
  • Responding to queries and concerns in relation to existing and prospective volunteers
  • Organising and supporting the delivery of volunteer onboarding and induction processes
  • Supporting the delivery of volunteer training
  • Preparing volunteer accommodation ahead of arrival
  • Managing administration of volunteer programme
  • Coordinating feedback mechanisms such as volunteer surveys and exit interviews
  • Conducting 1-2-1’s with volunteers to support good health of individuals and community
  • Providing pastoral support as and when needed and signposting when necessary
  • Arranging volunteer Welcome and Farewell Ceremonies
  • Providing references for past volunteers

Person Specification

You will be:

  • An experienced volunteer coordinator / manager
  • Able to work quickly and effectively without compromising on the quality of your work
  • Committed to improving the volunteer experience
  • An effective communicator (written and verbal)
  • An advocate for volunteers
  • Passionate about contributing in a meaningful way to an organisation on the cutting edge of nature connection and rewilding

Work Pattern

9am to 5pm on Wednesdays (including a 30 minute unpaid lunch break)
