Volunteer with us
Join our Volunteer Team!
We have a vacancy within our amazing House Team, to join as a Volunteer Assistant from the end of May through to the end of the season (about 5 months).
The House Team brings a sense of service, by supporting the cleanliness and preparations of the accommodation, dining yurt/kitchen and other spaces utilised by our programmes. We are a team who are dynamic, dedicated, supportive and carry things out with humility, a genuine dedication to bring clearing and cleaning to spaces and to uphold a high standard of cleanliness in the day to day, offering beautiful spaces that feel welcoming for people. We form a subtle sense of holding as part of the wider team to help ensure a seamless running, behind the scenes; rustic and grounded but with high standards enabling participants to get the most from their experience here.
We are hard working, able to adapt pace as necessary and are happy and comfortable with physical work sometimes in varied terrain and weathers. You’ll be washing up and getting stuck into a lot of cleaning (including the compost loos and main bathrooms). It is a role that is highly valued here as part of the backbone of essential operations. You will be embracing working as part of a team, both at work and as part of the Assistant community while also feeling competent to work on your own with initiative when required.
You likely will be a person who enjoys physicality, likes the open air, can think on your feet and is not such a fan of being behind a desk! You will have a good eye for detail and a natural sense for aesthetics and cleanliness. The exchange is 28 hours per week, meals when the commercial kitchen is open, a weekly stipend and basic accommodation (or you are welcome to bring your own accommodation). If this sounds like you, we would be pleased to receive your application by 10th of May for interviews commencing shortly after.
