New Wellness Days at Embercombe

Join us for a new series of free Wellness Days in our Medicine Wheel Garden and Community Orchard for communities in the Teign Valley and around Devon.

We will be restoring our heritage apple orchard and traditional medicine garden from October 2022 as we explore the world of wild medicine and plants throughout the four seasons together, and will be open to anyone interested in learning about plants and natural remedies, tree and orchard care, how we can deepen our relationship with the natural world and its benefits on our health and wellbeing.

Our series of free events will allow you to connect and learn about seasonal herbalism, nature connection and mindfulness in nature, orchard care and food forestry, and each day has been created as a perfect day out to enjoy our sensing relationship with the natural world on our beautiful rewilding 50 acre estate.

We are excited to announce the first four sessions:

9 October – Sunday: Opening ceremony with Mac
Project kick off and medicine wheel community design as we gather to collectively design a traditional herbal medicine garden of edible plants, herbs, fruits and wild flowers in relation to 4 quadrants of a medicine wheel for the year ahead, alongside an opening fire ceremony with Mac Macartney, Founder of Embercombe

20 November – Sunday:  Apple Harvesting Day
Join us for an Apple harvesting and juice making day, bring a box and bottles to take apples home with you!

10 December – Saturday: Winter Woodwork
Join us for a day of woodwork and willow weaving wreaths, and learning traditional coppicing/hedgelaying

11 January – Wednesday: Composting grief and Wassailing day
